Universal Credit help is being offered by the Citizens Advice Bureau in Bridport. The help offered will include checking benefit entitlements, applying for benefits, looking at personal budgets and finding ways of saving money or spending less on essential services such as fuel bills.
Bridport Local Area Partnership have produced a homelessness guide to local contacts who can offer support and advice for those in need.
Bridport Cohousing Community Land Trust are building a development of 53 all affordable eco homes in Bridport. As part of the local lettings policy any residents in outlying parishes will be able to qualify for one of these homes, either as a leasehold buyer or renting through their housing association partner. The below provides information on transport options for the Parish.
The number 6 bus serves the village of Netherbury with one return journey on school days that fits in with schools times. Please note that this bus is currently no available to members of the public due to Covis-19 restrictions.
The volunteer run CB3 Saturday Bus serves the village of Netherbury and Melplash. You will need to book a seat by phoning the following number 07716 643 087.
Dorset County Council publish a Community Transport Directory (2017) which includes information on community transport options for the Parish.
Axe Valley & West Dorset Ring and Ride Services provide transport for shopping, leisure, cultural and social activities. Those eligible to use this service include those living in Netherbury and who are disabled / mobility impaired, elderly and anyone with no access to or unable to use public transport. Beaminster Community Car Scheme provides transport for hospital appointments, doctors, dentists, opticians, chiropodists, prescription collection and shopping. Eligibility is for anyone for whom there is no public transport service available for essential journeys and serves Melplash, Netherbury and Waytown.
